I would like to thank Jane and the gang for the lovely and healthy three hens (sorry I will not be calling them girls, ladies or chooks!!) we bought two weeks ago from the Henporium.
Two Light Sussex and a White Star. They are now happily settled in their new home and were laying from day one.
I'd recommend HHH to anyone starting up or adding to an existing brood.

  4. I would just like to thank Keith and Julie for an enjoyable Sunday. I found the course to be very worth while as I am a beginner with no chickens as yet. We are now changing a few things for when the girls arrive so they feel much safer. Anyone who is contemplating this course I would go ahead with it as it is invaluable.

    many thanks again

  5. Michele and I spent a great Sunday recently on Keith and Julies course.
It was just like going around to a mates, comfortable, laidback and fun, but also very very informative.
We had already been bitten by the urban chicken bug, but their knowledge and enthusiasm has spurred us on to greater things, a bigger coop and more chickens! what next? Their course is a definite must if your starting on the 'chicken road'. Thanks again Keith Giddings.

  6. Absolutely fantastic course for anyone who wants to, or who owns chickens. I never realised that there was so much to know about keeping chickens and now feel totally confident in all aspects. Julie and Keith are a lovely couple and their enthusiasm for chickens comes across immediately, they are so knowledgeable and also provide a very comprehensive booklet to retain for future reference. I am also confident that they care about the future welfare of any chickens they supply and would provide any future advice. Thanks so much and your cream tea was delicious!

  7. " I could not fault the day course in chicken keeping, it was absolutely fantastic. Completely thorough, educating and insightful. Keith and Julie went out of there way to make sure the atmosphere was relaxed, fun and very very welcoming. Never once did they mind the constant questioning from us keen chicken keepers - and not one question could they not answer! It is beyond obvious that Julie and Keith care enormously about the welfare of chickens, which was particularly helpful in their section of illness and care - It made me feel much more confident about looking and treating my own chicken when I need to. It was also a great balance between practical and theory. I am so glad I attended this course, completely worth the money and time. I cannot recommend highly enough"

  8. I attended Keith and Julie's chicken keeping course and all I can say is "Fantastic". They are so friendly and provided so much informative information, more then I could have imagined and backed it up with a booklet to keep and reference when ever you need. They answered all our questions and provided a delightful homemade cream tea, those chickens lay good eggs!! Their compassion for keeping chickens is commendable and their knowledge appeared limitless! It was also nice that we got the practical opportunity to learn how to correctly handle the chickens and inspect their health. My favourite chicken was Tina Turner!! To anyone that is thinking of keeping chickens I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Thanks very much Julie and Keith.

  9. I bought 4 Hedgerow pullets last March: Black Rhode Rock, Buff Barred, Blue and Blacktail. They are all healthy, great fun and have lovely natures. I'm happily 'cooing' away (Julie would be proud - see her latest blog!) and they will come when called. They will also allow me to pick them up - most of the time! They have a decent sized run and we let them out into the rest of the garden when we are out there. They all produce good sized, perfect eggs already; one extra large, which sometimes has two yolks.

The course was invaluable and I frequently consult the very comprehensive information book that came with it. Julie also responds immediately to my emails with ready advice - and just because she is interested! I would be happy to share my experience from a beginner's perspective in more detail. Julie has my email address.

    1. Thank you so much Yvonne for the glowing testimonial you have left for us. Keith and I feel very honoured to receive such praise. It is obviously you have caught the very infectious "chicken bug" and have fallen in love with these marvellous creatures and we are pleased to have helped you on your journey to chicken enlightenment. Do please keep in touch.
